Bob Capron Scholarship

USTA Phoenix Bob Capron Scholarship Fund was established to assist any junior players of all levels who are in need, with funds to aid and allow them to continue training and playing tennis in group lessons.

 

The scholarship will typically provide 1/3 of the cost of the program. Scholarships are granted at the discretion of the USTA Junior Scholarship Committee to a maximum of $200 / month. There is an additional limit of $750 / yr per player. 

 

Any player receiving scholarship money is required to volunteer 2 hours for every $50 received and will require an invoice from the program.

Criteria: 

​

  1. Financial need

  2. Clinics and Camps

  3. Net Generation approved provider

  4. Written recommendation and affirmation from the coach

  5. Must be a current USTA member in USTA Phoenix

  6. Coach and training facility must be geographically within USTA Phoenix

  7. If applicant is 10U, coach and training facility must use ROGY guidelines

  8. Applicant must show a competitive plan by participating in Play Days, NET tournaments, Super Sets, Team Tennis, etc. 

  9. Player must participate in at least 1 competitive event per month to qualify.
